Fort Lauderdale Boat Show (FLIBS) Retrospective

This year’s edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) was a particularly successful show for DLBA. Three new DLBA designs were on display; the Aviara 36, Lexus 650 and Marquis 420. FLIBS hands out three Best in Show awards each year and we were thrilled to see the Lexus 650 and Marquis 420 Sports Yacht, both of which DLBA provided the naval architecture for, collect two of 2019 awards.
DLBA has been working with Marquis Yachts since 2005, and at this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) we had a virtual reality demonstration at booth so that visitors could go through the design in detail. From there, visitors were able to head to the Marquis dock and see the award-winning vessel for themselves.
The Lexus 650 was developed alongside, and built by, Marquis Yachts and is a new release from Japanese automaker, Lexus. The luxury vessel stretches over three decks with a high-tech hull composite hull design made from fiberglass and with carbon-fiber reinforcements added in critical areas to reduce weight and increase interior volume.
