LEEWAY STRIKER
(FORMERLY SEA STRIKER]
Optimized against multi-axis high-speed aggressor craft, this 10-million dollar patrol boat races out to conquer bringing a total package of speed, stealth, and stability. She has Rolls-Royce/KAMEWA waterjets from the S3-series and three 1,800 hp (1,300 kw) engines that take her 55+ knots, but she is also capable of being very quiet. Thanks to her grey and purple digital camouflage pattern, she is hard to see making her ideal for stealth missions. However, she is far from a wisp in the wind. Her deep-V composite hull keeps her stabilized even at high speeds.
LeeWay Striker is named after her current owner LeeWay Marine out of Halifax, Nova Scotia. LeeWay’s use of this craft shows off the diversity of purposes it has beyond law enforcement and fishery patrol. Their company specializes in sonar surveys and partners with Newfoundland’s Kraken Sonar Systems to image the sea floor and collect high resolution bathometric data. In purchasing Striker, LeeWay is taking advantage of her speed to get her much more quickly to the sonar survey areas than LeeWay’s other vessel the LeeWay Oddsey.
