In response to customer needs for readily available, technically flexible, and turn-key aquaculture work boat, DLBA Naval Architects, a division of Gibbs & Cox, Inc., have developed an Aquaculture Support Vessel.
DLBA Naval Architects is proud to announce that M/Y The Legion has been nominated for the World Superyacht Awards. Garnering a nomination in the Semi-Displacement or Planing Motor Yachts Below 500GT – 35M and Above category, 37.1 meter.
DLBA is proud to see W.F. Magann’s Capt Bud crane barge heading out to support renovation of Dry Dock 4 at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. The renovation will meet the Navy’s needs for a submarine overhaul and ensure the Dry Dock, which has just passed its centenary having first opened in April 1919, will be functional well into the future.
DLBA is currently working on the refit of Chispa; a private yacht built in the style of a downeast, gentlemen’s boat with a touch of oyster boat styling influence. DLBA is pleased to be providing design and naval architecture support for this refit which will see her emerge with updated an propulsion system and a new helm and deck arrangement.
New EPA/IMO regulations (2021) regarding exhaust emission levels will apply to all new yachts over 24m (79 ft.) in load line length. To meet the new criteria, these vessels will employ Selective Catalytic Reduction, or SCR, systems.
DLBA was proud to see two new Aviara models debut last year after a multi-year collaboration with the Aviara design team. These vessels are a new product line combining luxury and exclusive styling with uncompromised performance.
This month started with a bang for DLBA Naval Architects at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show with three new products debuted, and two receiving best in show awards.
DLBA was proud to host its first webinar in the interests of opening up dialogue between industry peers and furthering knowledge.
Annually, WorkBoat Magazine announces its shortlist of 10 nominees for Significant Boat of the Year. From that list, the Boat of the Year is chosen and announced at the International WorkBoat Show in December, and for the first time, DLBA has two boats included on the list.
The DLBA team has thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many of you throughout the show season, most recently at the very successful Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. For our next stop we are heading to METSTRADE in Amsterdam later this month, where Director Jeffrey Bowles will be onsite and taking part in the Global Superyacht Forum.
