DLBA COMMERCIAL NEWS

A dreamboat by name, and by design

APRIL 10, 2020

An exciting new project is underway at DLBA with the fitting moniker, Dreamboat. The Van Dam 33 Dreamboat is the result of a collaboration between Heather Witkop Design, Van Dam Custom Boats, and our DLBA Naval Architects team, with the result a vessel which displays innovation and forward thinking in its arrangement and performance.

Taking on the challenges that face most 35-foot boats, the Dreamboat 33 has combated tight berthing arrangements with an extensive interior layout between the lower deck and the helm/salon deck, plus a head and galley design that provides maximum space and comfort.

Van Dam will also install a Volvo Penta IPS system for the first time, which is designed for power and maneuverability while delivering efficiency and reliability. This proven technology allows for system integration from the helm station through to the propellers.

This dreamboat by name and by design combines the unique capabilities of all three entities; Witkop’s passion and creativity of design and styling, DLBA’s precision naval architecture and marine engineering, and Van Dam’s craftsmanship and attention for custom wood work. Though not the first time we’ve collaborated with Van Dam, the Van Dam 33 Dreamboat is the first project we’ve worked on together from scratch and we’re incredibly excited to see it come to life and be experienced on the water.
