Ritchie Howell 63

April 25, 2022

Ritchie Howell is a well-known builder in Wanchese, NC.  DLBA and Ritchie are developing their next collaboration for a current owner who wants a slightly larger boat.  The new 63’ will be a flybridge layout showing off sleek topside shape capturing style consistent with the Ritchie Howell heritage. The hull will be cold molded with Douglas fir bottom stringers providing efficient, but robust reinforcement.  Decks will be of composite fabrication resulting in stiff, but light structure up high.

Features like all the latest electronics, gyro stabilization, and twin diesel power will make her a superior performer.  Preliminary design is occurring including preliminary design weight estimate and performance predictions.  The general arrangements and machinery layouts are being developed as well.  The 3-stateroom, 2-head layout provides ample space for owner and guests, while the flybridge will be a comfortable and functional space for both the captain to operate and passengers to enjoy.  DLBA is excited to work through the design and develop the jigs for the hull, deckhouse, and bridge and support the construction.  She will be the next beauty built by Ritchie Howell.
