Van Dam’s Dreamboat:
Performance by Design

FEBRUARY 10, 2022

A fully realized collaboration between the team at Van Dam Custom Boats and DLBA Naval Architects.  Dreamboat is a perfect blend of tradition and technology.  She’s a custom build, 39-feet in length.  She is the perfect combination of traditional cold molded construction process with modern day equipment and top of the line craftsmanship for which Van Dam is famous.  She’ll be used primarily on the Great Lakes and will be an absolute standout on the water.

Volvo Penta IPS is the propulsion system and a Seakeeper gyro controls the roll.  Combined with a new hull from DLBA and a great layout from Van Dam team, she provides superior performance and seakeeping, with a predictable, soft and dry ride.  Features like Garmin electronics and a CZone system, along with a modern layout, make for an incredible experience for her owner and other passengers.

Ben Van Dam, President of Van Dam Custom Boats: “We approached DLBA to lead the Naval Architecture, structures and driveline of our latest project because of their expertise and experience.  We did not realize that this was just the tip of the iceberg.  They brought so much more than that to our project and they are a huge reason we had such a successful build.  I would recommend them to anybody who needs a service that they offer.  They are awesome.”
