PROJECT:

PORTLAND FIREBOAT

Put into active service in 2015, Oregon Iron Works and DLBA designed the Portland Fireboat to make a difference on Oregon’s waterways. With a top speed of 40 knots, her two 1,000 hp (746 kw) engines can get places in a hurry. For fires, her pumps are rated up to 8,000 gpm (30,000 liters per minute).

Beyond putting out fires, the Portland Fireboat is adaptable for her crew’s needs. Crews are trained on a variety of non-fire responses including hazardous material incidents, technical rescue, dive effort and law enforcement support, environmental mitigation, and natural disaster response and recovery.
