DLBA YACHTING NEWS

Two of three FLIBS award winners have DLBA DNA

NOVEMBER 6, 2019

At this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show Awards, DLBA was thrilled to see two of the three best-in-show awards go to projects the DLBA team has had a hand in.  The top three best-in-show awards went to the Majesty 140 of Gulf Craft yachts, the Marquis 420 Sport Yacht and the newly-released Lexus 650. It was an exciting moment for our team, having worked on both the Marquis 420 Sports Yacht and the Lexus 650.

DLBA provided the preliminary design in 3D to Marquis Yachts as Marquis undertook the build of the 42 Sport Yacht, while for the Lexus 650 we developed the hull form and structure. We’ve been working with Maquis Yachts since 2005 and at this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) we had virtual reality goggles on our stand at our booth so that visitors could go through the design in detail. From there, visitors were able to head to the Marquis dock and see the award-winning vessel for themselves.

The Lexus 650 was developed alongside, and built by, Marquis Yachts and is a new release from Japanese automaker, Lexus. The luxury vessel stretches over three decks with a high-tech hull design made from both carbon-fiber reinforced plastic and glass fibre reinforced plastic. The whole DLBA team was very pleased to see these two great vessels recognized and we send our hearty congratulations to the builders.
