In many industries, the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to simulate and study the behavior of fluids has become commonplace. However, in our field of Naval Architecture physical model testing (i.e., tank testing) is still the norm. We recognize that CFD software capability is improving, and our team is turning to this resource more frequently. In this webinar, we will explore some of the differences between tank testing and CFD simulations for predicting high speed craft performance, discuss the pros and cons of each method, and make recommendations on what to consider when deciding which path to take.
